Video Editing // Motion Design // Art Direction and Concepting
At Modsy, I led the creative development of our early commercial campaigns—from scrappy, DIY productions to polished shoots with agency partners. I shaped concepts, wrote scripts, assisted on the shoots, and collaborated cross-functionally to bring our service to life on screen. As budgets and ambitions grew, I worked to apply insights from each project to evolve our creative and elevate the brand’s presence across TV and digital channels.
How it Works Video and Commercial #1 (2017)
This was one of the first major projects I took on at Modsy. As an early-stage startup with a small team and no production budget, the video was entirely DIY. I wrote the script, created the visuals using a mix of graphics, screen recordings, and live footage (I shot in a colleague’s apartment), and collaborated with our head of marketing for the voiceover. At a time when Modsy’s service was a completely new concept, the video helped explain what customers could expect and became an important asset on the homepage.
Later that year, when Modsy’s 3D technology was featured on Bravo’s Cyrus vs. Cyrus. I adapted the original video into a 20-second TV spot that aired during the show.
Commercial #2 (2018)
In 2018, with a limited budget but a growing interest in commercial advertising, we produced a new Modsy ad. I created the storyboard and shot list, and we filmed on-site at a colleague’s home with a freelance videographer. To bring the product to life, I collaborated with our 3D artist to develop custom visuals that demonstrated Modsy’s core experience. The result was a polished, resourceful piece that helped expand our brand presence without requiring a full-scale production team.
Commercial #3 (2019)
For this 2019 commercial, we set out to test a customer testimonial–style ad. I edited together a compilation using long-form footage we had filmed over the years in customers’ homes. By repurposing this existing content, we were able to highlight real customer experiences in an authentic, low-cost way—allowing us to validate the format before investing in a full production.
Commercial #4 (2019)
Following the success of our initial customer testimonial ad, we partnered with the agency Glass and Marker to produce a more polished campaign with a full production team. I collaborated closely with the agency to shape the creative direction—drawing on insights and successful elements from earlier ads. Together, we identified real customers, secured a beautiful location, and captured authentic testimonials that elevated the storytelling and visual quality of the campaign.
